Montréal, April 30, 2018 – Earlier today, the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM) published its new fare schedule for public transit services in the metropolitan area, which will take effect on July 1, 2018.
Since June 1, 2017, the ARTM has been responsible for setting the fares for the territory’s public transit systems. As such, beginning on July 1, 2018, the applicable fares for using the area’s four main public transit services (RTL, RTM, STL and STM) will be indexed by 2% on average. This is the first time that fares for services in the territory will be indexed since January 2017.
Reduced fares will stay the same
The current reduced fares for children, students and individuals aged 65 and over will be maintained. The reduced fare for students in effect since September 1, 2017 is available to all eligible full-time students, regardless of their age.
Public transit users are encouraged to enrol in one of the annual OPUS subscription programs, which offers attractive benefits, such as discounts, automatic monthly payments and online subscription management.
