Improvements to real-time schedules

1 November 2023

In recent weeks, you have probably noticed a change in how train and bus schedules are displayed on your app.
Since public transit service is not immune to unexpected situations, Chrono strives to give you the most accurate traveller information possible to help you plan and manage your trips. That’s why the app now lets you know if your bus or commuter train is running behind or ahead of schedule, and it gives you the new, adjusted arrival time, if applicable.

When your bus or train is not on schedule, two indicators now appear on the screen, if real-time data is available. The first indicator is the scheduled arrival time, which is crossed out and followed by the words “late” or “early.” The second indicator is the adjusted arrival time, providing both the minutes remaining (e.g. 3 min) and the exact time (e.g. 2:50 pm). These two ways of presenting the next arrival time make it clearer and let you view the information in the format you prefer.

What’s more, all bus and train arrival times are now displayed, even if their scheduled arrival times have passed. No more confusion at the stop or station! You will always know what to expect so you can make informed decisions based on the situation.

Refer to the legend next to the ‘real time available’ indicator, to learn about each new addition to the schedule display.

Like before, Chrono gives you all the schedules for the public transit network in the Greater Montréal metropolitan area (which are also available offline). However, these are now based on real-time public transit agencies data (position, crowding level and vehicle arrival times) and presented more clearly. To find out more about real-time data, you can also read this post (https://www.artm.quebec/en/chrono-blogue/what-is-real-time/).

If you have a problem, feel free to contact us through the app. We like hearing from you, and don’t forget that Chrono has been developed in collaboration with you, its users.

Now it’s time to check out your new schedules…
